The following story was posted on our original website before we had to switch platforms. In all honesty I thought it was lost. But I found it tonight while cleaning out old files. It was a 'WORD' story written by multiple authors. They each received a 'word' and/or 'phrase' and the paragraph before theirs. And that was it. From that they had to write a paragraph of their own to continue the story. It was to help celebrate Sweets Books turning ONE years old. So yes, it was written A LONG time ago. (2015) So, eight years ago. So, without further ado... Ben & Kaylee I wake with a groan “Ugh, Kaylee why are the curtains open?” I say groggily. Only to get no answer back. I slowly open my eyes to see the bedroom is completely empty. I sigh and slowly sit up rubbing my face to wake up. I lightly slap my face and mutter “Come on wake up asshole.” I can hear the shower running so I’m guessing that's where Kaylee is. My cell starts ringing and when I look at the screen all I can think is ‘Oh shit….’ Written by Sweets Books It’s the psychotic manager from the finance department at work who can’t keep her gaze or hands off me. How many times do I have to remind her I’m in a committed relationship? Holy crapola. She calls at the most inopportune times. I think she installed surveillance cameras in my apartment when I was on vacation; she seems to know when Kaylee leaves the bedroom. I fling my cell aside. The best way to forget about her is to join my girlfriend in the shower. Written by Violetta Rand As I walked into the bathroom, the scent of lavender invaded my nostrils. The thrill of being inside my girlfriend in just a moments time had me frozen in place. The feel of her hands on me. Her fingers wrapped around my length. The need to dive inside her body took control as I stepped further into the bathroom. Written by Jo-Anna Walker
Making my way across the slippery tiles, I strip myself of my clothes as I go. Only her silhouette is visible to me through the rain forest like mist in the room. Anxiously, I slip in behind her, wrapping my arms around her and pulling her back against my chest. The feel of her soft bare skin against mine, makes my dick lengthen and grow harder. I'm going to take her, right here. Rough and demanding. Until she has nothing left to give. Then I'm going to lift her exhausted body in my arms and carry her to our bed where I'll start all over again. Written by Tricia Daniels As we lay naked on the bed -our hearts still racing from passionate love-making, we hear panicked voices erupt downstairs. Kaylee turns to look at me with her beautiful face etched in fear. We both recognize the deep echoing voice now climbing the stairs towards our room. My maid, Jocelyn, screams for us to run. Kaylee and I hurry out of bed and frantically pull on clothes. I search urgently around the room for a way out, knowing there is only one other exit besides the door. Kaylee runs to me and I lead her towards my patio window. I snatch the screen door open to reveal my pool three stories below. Just as the bedroom door is kicked off its hinges, we lock eyes and jump. Written by Kellee Gilmore The resounding splash, of course, is a dead giveaway. Why didn't I think of another way to get us out? The last thing I ever wanted to do was put Kaylee at risk and that is exactly what I just did. The moment her head bobs out of the water, gasping for breath, I grab onto her waist making sure she is all right. "Are you hurt," I ask, looking around for any obvious signs of trauma. Kaylee just gives me her killer half-smile. "Hurt? How can I be hurt now that you're here?" I kiss her wet forehead gently. "I"m gonna protect you, Kaylee. No one is ever gonna hurt you again, do you understand?" My eyes bore into her midnight eyes--eyes that I got lost in the first time I saw her. Once I saw her, I knew there was no turning back. I realize my gaze must be intense, but I need her to know that she's safe. She gives me the smallest of nods, and instantly looks down at the water, no doubt ashamed that she's needed help in the first place. I never want her to feel that way ever again. Suddenly, there is a commotion above us followed by the sound of shouting from the patio. "It might be time for us to go now," I say to Kaylee. She looks up at the man shouting down at her. Guttural curses are all I can make out. Kaylee's eyes look up to me in panic. Clutching her tighter around her waist, I pull her to the edge of the pool. I need to get her far from here. From them. Hers is a love unlike I've ever felt. I will not let her go without a fight. She is my love, my guardian angel, a treasure sent from above. And I will protect her. Written by Danielle Bannister "Ben, They will find me. He always finds me. They told me it was their goal in life to keep me from you. We can't go back to our home!" I clung to her waist, dragging her along to the edge of the woods. "I don't care, Kaylee. I love you to much to let them treat you that way. You're an adult, and you're mine to save. I won't let them hurt you anymore." She glanced behind her, then nodded at picked up the pace along side me. I knew we were at least two miles from any roads, and Kaylee wouldn't be able to make the trek through the woods with her injuries. Finally out of sight and earshot from the place that tortured her throughout her younger years, I sat and held her in my lap, gently rocking her to give her comfort and reassurance that she was going to be okay. She cried silent tears, nearly gutting me with the fear of almost losing her again. Written by Brooke Page Kaylee's lower lip trembled underneath her tears. I closed my eyes in an attempt to block out the image of her pain. With my eyes still closed, the pad of my thumb found her lip and it started to rub it back and forth so lightly. I felt her hand on the side of my face and I opened my eyes to find her devouring my face with her gaze. She was beautiful and she was mine. I wanted to tell her everything I imagined for our future. I saw her belly big with my baby. I saw her laughing at our wedding as I shoved the cake into her face. I saw it all. As I started to bend down to replace my thumb with my lips, she grabbed the back of my head. I widened my eyes at her forceful grasp. "Baby, get down!", she gasped in terror. That is when I heard the tell tale sound of bolt handle pulled back on several rifles. I shoved my face in Kaylee's hair while she cried out my name. Written by Alisa Mullen "Aw, jeez .. God, not this," I whispered into the softness of her hair. "Not now." Her grip tightened in my hair, pulling slightly as she struggled to keep me close. I felt her head shake, her chin moving against the top of my head as her fingers slipped down to clutch the back of my neck. She knew me so well. She knew I would give anything to protect her, anything to see her safe. "Ben, no," she whimpered, but it was too late. There was no way I could cower here in front of her, not knowing who was behind me or what they intended to do with the rifles I'd heard being prepped for firing. All that mattered was that we were in danger -- she was in danger, and there was nowhere to run, no place to hide, and no one to call. There was only the two of us, and there were intruders right behind me. I could feel Kaylee trembling, her fear shivering down through her body, awakening my need to protect her. "Don't be a hero, Benny," she whispered against my hair, begging me to keep still. But I couldn't -- my choice was made. I stiffened my shoulders, pulled away, and pressed my mouth to hers for what might be the last time, the saltiness of her tears wet between our lips. As I pulled away, I heard them speak for the first time, and I knew that there was no other choice. They wouldn't hurt her -- they had come for me. "Don't move!" A menacing voice sounded behind me, but I ignored it, set on my path. I set Kaylee away from me, and in that motion, I set my own heart away from my body. And then, still using the broadness of my chest and shoulders to hide her, to shield her, I turned around to face what was coming. Written by Brandi Kennedy "Don't!" I said to her, knowing her curiosity was getting the better of her, and she was moving to get a better view. "Shit!" she said, and her hands stopped shaking. "Shit?" I asked, tilting my head slightly but never looking away from our assailants. "Mother--" the man with the gun closest to me began, lowering the rifle. Kaylee cut him off, "Mark William Montana, don't you say another word!" "What the fuck is going on here?" I asked, moving so I was standing between Kaylee and this Mark character. "Yeah, Kaylee, what the fuck is going on here?" Mark repeated my question. I shot him a look of irritation, and he narrowed his eyes, lips tight and angry. "Mark, meet my boyfriend Ben--Ben meet my kid brother Mark," Kaylee said, laughing awkwardly. "I know who he is," Mark growled. "But I'm pretty sure you don't!" My chest tightened at the words. I knew that this day had been coming, but I hadn't expected it now--and not before I could explain exactly what had happened to Kaylee--and certainly not with my enemy being her brother. I swallowed, turning to face Kaylee. "Listen--Kaylee, I can explain..." "Ha," her brother chuckled behind me. "Now, this should be good." Written by Cassandra Giovanni Grabbing a soup can, I spin around and whip it at Mark's head. Looks like my high school pitching arm is still good. He doesn't even see it coming. The can hits him square in the forehead, and he crumples to the ground, his rifle and cop hat next to him. I turn back to Kaylee, whose wide eyes are trained on her brother. "Listen to me, baby." Her eyes shift in my direction and flash with terror. "Why did you do that?" Her shaking voice cuts right through me. This is not how I wanted her to find out. I step closer to her. "I have to leave and I want you to come with me." She steps back. "Leave?" I step closer again, pinning her against the wall of the storage room. "Yeah, leave, vamoose, bye." "Bye?" she whispers. "Yeah, bye-bye." Tears fill her eyes. "Why?" Swallowing hard, I place my shaking hands on her shoulders. I love this woman. We live together. I've been saving for a ring so we can spend our lives together. One wrong night in one wrong place threatens it all. I should have told her sooner, before everything snowballed into the current clusterfuck. "I was framed." Written by Nicki DeStasi She stares at me, the look on her face one of incomprehension. Some fire returns to her as the shock fades and anger forms. “Framed for what? You're a mechanic! Did someone accuse you of putting the wrong kind of tires on a car or what?” I make a sound of frustration, turning away as I swipe a hand through my hair. “Look, I don't have time to explain everything. He'll be waking up soon and I can't be here when he does. The whole knocking out a cop thing? Probably cause for arrest. We need to get to Murphy.” I face her. “You trust me, right?” Her eyes dart to her unconscious brother. “I thought I did.” “You do, you know you do. I wouldn't have done that unless I had no alternative.” “Who is Murphy?” “Murphy is the guy responsible for framing me. I need to pay him a little visit.” I pause, shifting my gaze to hers. “He's also my brother.” Confusion mars her features. “I didn't know you had a brother.” “I usually try to keep it that way, but this has gone too far. I'm asking you one last time to please come with me.” “And if I don't?” I exhale slowly. “Then I go either way. But I'd feel better having you with me. I don't trust any cops right now—even innocent ones can make life-altering mistakes while having the best of intentions.” Her eyes lighten with something as she studies me, her expression turning fierce as she finds whatever it is she was searching for. Slowly nodding, Kaylee says, “Okay. I'll go. But you owe my brother an apology.” I grab her hand and pull. “I'll be sure to send him a card.” Written by Lindy Zart It’s not as though I would’ve allowed Ben to leave me behind, but I wish I had an idea how far away Murphy lived. By the time the sun descends and darkness overtakes our surroundings, my eyes begin drifting shut regardless of how many times I blink them to stay awake. Ben’s incessant finger drumming along the steering wheel is like my lullaby, soothing me to sleep. Well—that and the humming sound from the tires over the pavement. My eyes narrowly open from the sun rising out in front of us, and I look over at Ben, admiring how good looking he is. We’ve been driving all night and I’m positive Ben’s exhausted by the fact he’s yawned twice just since I woke up. He glances over and we share a smile to one another. Ben’s arm stretches out and his palm encases my kneecap. His soothing and reassuring touch confirms that I can trust him. “Breakfast?” he asks. My stomach rumbles to life. “Yes,” I answer, placing my hands on my not so quiet belly. “Great, there’s a place up here. Best known for their biscuits and gravy,” he adds, squeezing my knee before returning his hand to the steering wheel. “I know how much you love your biscuits.” He takes his eyes off the road to wink at me, enticing those butterflies in my stomach to flutter. “Are you sure it’s not you who likes your biscuits?” I coyly ask, smirking his way. “Biscuits?” He sarcastically questions, squinting his eyes to me. “Nah, I’m more of a big juicy melons with a warm muffin kind of guy for breakfast,” he finishes his thought barely able to hide his amusement and pure laughter bellows out of me. Written by Michelle Lynn As we pull into the quaint little restaurant, I get out of the car and stretch, sucking in the cool morning air. My stomach rumbles, and I need caffeine badly. "Ready, babe?" Ben asks, a small smile playing on his face. "As ready as I'm getting. I could use a warm, cozy bed and a few more hours sleep." "I know, me too," Ben agrees, "But after we eat, we'll get the address to the Bed and Breakfast and should be there soon." It's what he doesn't say that wakes me up. It's the way his fingers trace the inside of my hand as we walk into the restaurant. It's the gleam in his eye as he watches me slide into the booth. I know that look because I've seen it many times. It's not biscuits he wants anymore. It's me. "Kaylee," he breathes into my ear, his hand sliding up my leg. "It's not sleep I'm craving anymore. Let's get something quick and get back on the road." Written by LL Collins "Mmm," I hum softly laying my hand on his. He gives me a little smirk. "What? Aren't you hungry Benji?" I tease. My use of his pet name has ignited something in him. He knows I use it when I want something. He knows that something is him. But he also knows that I will tease him, so he doesn't seem surprised when I order a plate of biscuits and gravy with some orange juice to drink. When our waitress slinks off to the kitchen he reaches for my hand again, tracing the lines along my palm once more as he pushes his face close to mine. "You know that I love you right, Kaylee?" Written by Trista Jaszczak "I know, I love you too Benji," I reply using my pet name for him again. "I know we just ordered some food, but why don't we take a trip and get away, just you and me? We could go to a little house by the sea?" I ask and he raises an eyebrow at my sudden turn of conversation. "Just tell me you'll think about it, you - me in the crystal clear salt water. Just think of all the things we could do, secluded and away from everything, from everyone. Maybe this is what we need Ben, a break from reality, what do you think?" Written by KE Osborn He sighs softly, lowers his head and strums his fingertips on the single sheet of pink linen paper that he’d set between us on the table, and I eye the note with the impressive straight lines of perfectly penned cursive, its closing “Love, Lola” a stark reminder of our new reality. Written by Julia Bramer I immediately regret my suggestion, Ben’s reaction way too familiar, and my heart clenches fearfully. "Ben," I say as I look up into his molten brown eyes. "What?" he mumbles, but immediately looks away not wanting to meet my intense gaze. "Is this as good as it gets?" I ask. "Probably, but it doesn't mean we can't stop trying to make it better." My focus is instantly broken when we hear a rap at the door. Shit, they found us. Written by Margaret McHeyzer "Get back." Ben says pushing me behind him. The sun filters through the windows on either side of the door making it impossible to see who's on the other side. I stumble a step under the force of his arm pushing me. Fear gripping me tightly. Ben's nostrils flare as he moves towards the door. No, I think, please not this. It's strange but the only thing I can seem to focus on is the peeling paint of the door frame as Ben's hand reaches for the knob. It hangs in thick strips from too many coats of paint over the years. I want to peel it all off. I want to see what kind of fresh look is hiding underneath it all. Written by K. Larsen Where did they all come from? Engaging the lock, I promise, "They'll never take you. Not as long as I am alive." She trembles and I grip her hand tightly, rushing away from the front door, bending at the weight of their banging. Then I lead her toward the hidden and forgotten laundry shoot, blocked by the overgrown fichus tree. After sliding the small wall panel, I urge her inside and then climb in behind, wrapping my body tightly around hers. I push a hand against the wall, gliding us downward into the darkness. Her breathing is ramped up when she whispers, "Ben, don't risk your life for this, please? If they find us, run and save yourself." Reaching the basement level, she lowers to her feet and spins around. I scoop her into my arms, searching deeply into her frightened eyes. "Kaylee love, don't you get it yet? You're mine, I'll never let go." My words melt into her lips as I press my mouth against hers, taking what I've needed for so long. Written by Marie Wathen I struggle, open my mouth to protest, only to give him the invite he needs to slide his tongue inside. At that one stroke, my body stills. Ben deepens the kiss, drinking from me, taking all he can get. Oh my god. It was unbelievable. I pull back, looking into his hooded eyes. My brows pull together. "You..I..I'm yours?" I ask questioning his sanity. "Kaylee, baby you are it for me. You will always be it for me." At his words, something sparks from deep within, something warm and unfamiliar. My fingers fist in his shirt, bringing him closer, while I tilt my head and tangle my tongue with his. I pressed with everything I had deepening the kiss, his growl filling my mouth. I need this as much as his does. Written by Jen Khan As our tongues do the seductive dance , the love pouring between us. Ben lifts me up in his powerful arms, as I wrap my quivering legs around him. Carrying me to the couch, he sits down, with me hovering upon his lap. Our lips separate and we are both panting. I look at him and say, " Okay baby, I am all in. I belong to you always and forever." He looks at me as tears form in the corners his eyes, and reclaims my lips with his in a searing kiss as if he is trying to fuse his mouth to mine permanently. With every second of our embrace, the rest of the world melts away until our reality contains only our lips. Written by Kayla Lynn Melser Oh yeah. It'd been so long and I just wanted the feel of him against me. It's heavenly. It's blissful. His hand strokes up my arm and curves around my neck. Yes, yes. I keep saying that in my head as he runs his fingers over me. He takes ahold of me, anchoring me in his grip and I can't help but to sigh from contentment. Oh yeah, this is way more than okay. I push against him, rubbing my chest to his. He holds his breath and I feel the power I have over him. I savor it, but it acts like a drug to me. I want more. I need more of this feeling. Pushing my hips down, I grind onto him and then I capture his bottom lip. Tugging on it, I laugh into his mouth, "Yeah?" I don't need any other word. He knows what I'm asking. Does he like this? His hands fall to my hips and he pulls on me as I push against me. He grunts, then whispers, "Oh hell yeah." Then he closes the small gap and takes over. I'm his after that. Written by Tijan His lips trail long, wet kisses down my neck while his hands glide up under my shirt. Cupping my breasts, he rocks his hips against mine, pressing his erection against my stomach. Pleasure surges through me from having his hands on me and the way his mouth is teasing the incredibly sensitive skin on my neck. My head falls back as a moan slips through my lips. The need for him is growing so quickly I'm almost desperate to get out of our clothes and feel his nude body against mine. I clutch my hands against his back as his hands slip under the cups of my bra so that he can tease my nipples, making another moan escape from me. Written by Rachael Orman As our tongues continue to touch and swirl my body begins to come alive. Every nerve fiber under my skin reacts to his mouth on mine. My body continues to press into him but it’s not enough. I want more...always more with him. Breaking my lips free from his I lessen my grip from his shirt. Taking a moment to collect myself, I inhale a long deep breath and let it out slowly. My eyes make connection with his and I finally see what I've been denying. I now know with every fiber in my being that I'm done - Ben is it for me. As we continue to stare at each other I decide to take a chance. "Ben, there is no one else that can make me feel and respond this way. I'm done looking…you are my everything." His lips curve into a wicked smile before he opens his mouth to speak. "Babe, I've been waiting for you to say that. Now get those fine lips back on mine. I need to kiss the hell out of you." Written by Aine Kelley For so long, I've wanted him. Craved him. Only now do I realize how much I need him. "We shouldn't," I whisper as I tilt my neck toward his ravenous mouth. "I know. But right now, I don't give a damn." His breath is warm and fast, and my heartbeat cannot be slowed. "How long do we have? Everyone will be back soon." My fingers entwined through his hair as my eyes dart to the window. "I dunno," he answers as he presses hard against my hips with his. "By now you should know, as long as you are in my arms, we're the only two people in the world." His mouth engulfs mine in a long, slow passionate kiss as I hear the rumble of Jake's truck approaching. We might be the only two people in the world, but if Jake catches us, and finds me in another man's arms, that's a world that I don't want to live in. Written by Jacelyn Rye "Go out the back door," I said as I shoved him slightly away. Grabbing my arms his lips crashed down onto mine and I could tell this wasn't goodbye, more of a tease of what's to come, "Go," I said again, this time with more authority, "He will kill us both is he sees you in here," just then I heard the sound of a pair of heavy work boots hit the stairs. "Kaylee?" Jake hollers out. I cringe as I hear the venom in his voice but straighten my shoulders as I reply back "Yes?" He comes around the corner of the hallway, I look him up and down and wonder how were related in any way. Written by Nicole Montomery He was out of breath and getting more annoyed with each second that passed, "What the fuck is he doing here, Kaylee?" Enraged, Jake flew towards Ben with his arm cocked back, ready to kill. "Jake stop, I invited him here! I love him!" I screamed and lunged across his warpath, bumping him off course, as his fist alternately cracked into the wall. In the same blur, Ben gathered me into his arms, protecting me from my brother's wayward punch. My words registered as the pain from Jake's swollen and bloodied digits set in. The anger was still present in his glare, but it was now mixed with something else. He seemed torn over his hatred for what he felt towards Ben and the raw emotion he heard in my declaration. He didn't say anything. Silence. It was Ben who spoke next, "Listen man, I know you're looking out for her, but that's my job now; it has been since the day I met her." His voice cracked as he went on, "Um...I don't know how else to say it," he ran his hand over his head, hair thread through his fingers. Ben seemed to draw courage from the other arm he still had wrapped tightly around me, he continued, "I love her." Written by Mary Kris Smith Jake ground his molars together, back and forth. I saw his jaw moving as his face turned redder by the second. My heart rapped in my chest, waiting for Jake to do something else idiotic. He couldn’t just get over it and deal with the fact Ben and I were together. I opened my mouth, words threatening to spill out when Jake locked his gaze on mine. I stopped short and stared at him. Fear ran through my chest and into my stomach before it dropped to my toes. His face was purple before he spat, “Goodbye, Kaylee. Have a fucked up life.” Jake raced through the kitchen and out the screen door to the garage. His engine revved down the street as I shifted to look up at Ben, tears stinging my eyes. I shook my head as I tried to push them back, not wanting to cry in front of him. Taking a deep breath, I pushed out of Ben’s arms and did the only thing I could think of to distract myself. I cleaned every surface, every utensil and every nook and cranny of that kitchen. Written by Adrian Smith Thoughts invade my mind, bringing me to another world. A world of mine. Where everything is easy, painless, surreal. Where I can love two guys, in two different ways, and everything can still make sense. Where I'm painless. I'm happy. They're happy. It doesn't matter how much I think on these things though, or how much I wish upon something greater. Reality is just that... reality... and I need to live in the now. Where pain is possible, heartache is a must, and love is the greatest medicine known to mankind. Giving me a little over an hour to get the kitchen spic and span, Ben finally came over, wrapping his arms around me from behind. "Baby," he whispers. The warm breathe giving me a peaceful feeling, even though the stress of everything that is Jake. "Stop," he orders. I peek over my shoulder to him. His eyes looking lost... confused... hurt... and loving. My heart contracts. I never wanted to hurt him. "I'm sorry, Ben." "Don't be sorry." His voice soft. "Just know that... that I love you." "I love you too." With a spin on the heels, I'm facing Ben again. The love of my life. My everything. I press my lips to his, melting into the soft caress that is his. Even though life without Jake will be hard, it'll be worth it, because I've only truly ever needed Ben... and I have him. Here, in my arms, with me. The love of my life, loving me. Written by Ashley Beale “Hello! Guys you home?” We both pull away from each other and I turn towards the new voice. We only wait a few minutes till Mark rounds the corner. Seriously, I thought I knocked him out the other day guess I wasn’t so lucky in losing him like I had hope. Kaylee offers him a huge a grin as soon as she sees him and I can only watch as she runs over to him and throws her arms around his neck. “You’re alright? I thought ……..oh I don’t know what I thought!” Kaylee says. Mark hugs her back but glares at me over her head. Yeah, figured it wasn’t over yet! I automatically look around for something I can use to get myself out of here but come up with nothing. Well dammit! “Can I talk to Ben alone for a few minutes?” Mark asks Kaylee. She looks between us and I can tell she’s trying to figure out whether or not we’ll actually talk or kill each other. I offer her a encouraging smile “It’s ok babe. Were just going to talk. She nods and slowly walks out of the room. I turn my attention back to Mark, but its too late. I’m left picking myself up from the floor. Dick wad threw a sucker punch! I reach up and rub my now sore jaw while I glare at him. “That was for knocking me out with this!” He slams the same, I kid you not can of soup from yesterday on the counter. I can’t help but smirk. “Wow…..is that all?” He shakes his head and lets out a sigh at the same time. “Nah, I owe you more than that but I’ll be nice ………. for now.” He mutters something under his breath and then looks me straight in the eye. “Thought you might want to know we caught Murphy Jenkins late last night.” My eyebrows hit the roof. Ok maybe not the roof but you know what I mean. “Seriously?” He nods. “Yep, he also admitted to that break-in that went bad a few months back. Said you didn’t have anything to do with it.” He says this while never breaking eye contact with me. I swallow hard cause as much as I would like to say I’m Innocent; I’m not. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to say anything. So instead I settle for nodding. “Anything else?” I ask as I finally stand up from the floor. “Nope that's it. But I will be watching you from now on!” He states while standing toe to toe with me. I just nod. “Good then I’ll see you tomorrow bright and early.” He says as he heads for the door. Wait. What? “What?” I ask dumbfounded. He smirks and says “Oh yeah, didn’t I tell ya?” I shake my head. “ Mmmm…….oh well. Me, you, Jake and our dad are all going hunting tomorrow! "He says chuckling as he leaves out the back door. Fuck me like a rubber duck. “MEGASAURUS!” I hear Kaylee holler from the living room. Then I hear the Jeopardy theme music. I just shake my head, and lean up against the wall closing my eyes. A plate of food being set in front of me brings reality crashing back to me! I reach up and scrub my eyes with my hand and try to focus on my surroundings. "Can I get y'all anything else?" I hear a sweet voice ask. I look up into a pair of light blue eyes and smile as I say "No thank you Kaylee!" She smiles and nods her head before she turns away to check on her other customers. I can't help but follow her with my eyes as she walks around to each table..."You've got it bad man." I look over to my brother Chris who's sitting opposite of me. I shrug my shoulders and look back to Kaylee. She catches me looking at her and gives me that sweet smile of hers that I've dreamed of so many times. "Are you ever going to ask that girl out? I mean you've been crushing on her for months now." Chris says as he takes a bite of his catfish. I think for a moment before I ask "Hey, did you ever dream of Becky before you two got together? He tilts his head to the side as he contemplates my question. "Yeah I did. I didn't always see her face or anything and it didn't always make sense to me. But I knew it was her so I finally gave in and just asked her out. Now look at us been together for 2yrs and married for 5 months of it!" He says grinning. "Why ya asking?" I look back over to where Kaylee is and shrug. "Here lately I've been having the weirdest dreams. From people chasing us to being in a car and in a house. Just random things that don't make much sense. But the one constant is Kaylee, she's always in the dreams and were together." I finish as I reach for my soda and take a drink. "Its weird, right? Chris just sits there and looks at me like I'm the craziest person he's ever met. Hell I would think the same thing had it been the other way around. I look back to where she's standing and notice Troy Thompson standing there talking to her. More like flirting if ya ask me. "I'm gonna go ask her out!" I say to no one in particular. As I stand and push my chair under the table. "Bout time." Chris mutters under his breath. I can't help but throw a smirk his way. I take a step only to stop and look back to my plate of catfish then look at my brother "Don't eat my food!" He just shakes his head. As I get closer to Kaylee I can't help but listen when I hear her say to Troy "No thanks. I just don't want to. Now if you'll excuse me I need to check on my tables!" She finishes as she turns to walk away. As soon as she sees me standing there a smile covers her face. "Ben, is everything OK?" I nod and reach out and take her hand "Can I talk to you for a minute?" She just nods and let's me lead her off to the side of the room. As soon as were out of hearing distance of everyone else I stop and bring her in front of me. I smile and begin " Would you like to go out with me tomorrow? Nuttin fancy or anything just I don't know maybe drive around of the back roads and get something to eat." I look at her and she has the tiniest bit of a smirk playing on her lips. "In less you rather do something else that is....." She covers my mouth with hers before I even realize what's going on. My hands automatically go to her hips and drag her closer to me as I return the kiss. All too soon she breaks it and says "Love to! " And just like that my life took a turn! Written by Sweets Books
